I’ve only seen these in the Planet-arium of Woodson High School when I was a little kid. A program on Aurora Borealis was a sure elementary school crowd pleaser. And there were different kinds of northern lights with cool, descriptive names!
Arc, Band, Ray, Corona, and my favorite: Curtain. The Curtain Aurora looked like layers of sheer fabric, usually pink.
I’m going to Jukkasjarvi, Sweden for Christmas and so hope I see some. Can I photograph them with a digital camera?
