I was born in Orangeburg, SC in 1978 (January to be exact). I was birthed with the assistance of a midwife in a private home in this small South Carolina town.
My parents were apparently local college students. South Carolina State College and Claflin College surround the school. They studied Law and English.
I have no idea what became of them. I was given the name Baby Beth and adopted by wonderful, supportive, loving educators. I lived in Charleston, South Carolina.
I knew from an early age that I was adopted, but I didn’t have much more information. I only learned more about my adoption after a hospital stay.
This is a scary and expensive venture. Yet, I don’t feel as though I can survive living this life without knowing the truth.
