I know I'm supposed to be concentrating on one goal this year but... 22 months ago

I was thinking, if I put 68 dollars a week into a savings account, after a year I’ll have about 3500 dollars.

This year my sole focus was (and still is) getting healthy and in shape. For 2009 my focus will be on getting my financial house in order. I’m thinking if I already have my emergency fund in place at the start of the year that will give me an emotional boost. I hate dealing with money. I like to spend it and all but all that other stuff makes my stomach hurt.

Anyhoo, I start my new job next month. We have the option of opening an account with some credit union the hospital has some kind of a deal with. If I open a savings account with these people, when I sign up for direct deposit papers, I can have 68 dollars transferred to that account. That’s roughly about how much more I’ll be making a week at this new job. This way I’ll never miss it. And since payroll wil be doing the real work and I won’t be looking at or touching this account, I’ll still be focusing on my one goal for 2008, getting in shape.

3500 dollars 3 years ago

would cover the basics for three months.

Phase 2 3 years ago

Ater I complete my Phase 1 short term goals I will begin Phase 2. This is on the Phase Two list.

The minimum amount should be enough to cover 3 months worth of expenses, but 3 months income before taxes would make a nice cushion.
