Get a DR Field and Brush Mower

DR is in my good graces again. They have great customer service when yo get the right people. They understood my complaint and offered to let me take it to a local shop to have the deck fixed and reinforced so it does not happen again. They said they will pay the bill, including the cost to repaint the deck. That is much better for me because I don’t have to worry about it breaking again. It may not be as pretty now with the angle iron supports, but it is tough enough to do the job right now. Even better, I did not have to wait a week for a new deck and have to change all of the parts over. They also agreed that this will not void my warranty.
Yay, back to brush cutting.

My review of the, 17HP 30 inch deck, DR Field and Brush Mower has been forced to change. I thought it was just one bad deck and it would be cool once I got my new deck. After I got it, I changed it all out and started using it again. After about 5 hours of use, the skid broke off again in exactly the same place and the metal looks like pot metal again. It was overheated when welded. The DR Field and Brush Mower’s engine and frame are strong enough for most jobs, but the welding on the deck is poorly done and the right skid (on the discharge side) is not well designed at all. I am not going to get another deck and wait for the skid to break again. This time I am returning it for good. Oh well, I liked it when it was in one piece.

lol, I got my first one Friday night. I got to use it for an hour Saturday then today I went out to try it again. In about an hour the right skid broke off the deck. What a bummer. I had to stop and take it back to the house. I will have to call them tomorrow about replacing the deck. Hopefully it is faster and easier than it was to originally get the mower. It took a month to get it. Looks like the metal had impurities in it. It looked like pot metal where it broke off. Oh well. I doubt they knew it lol. 2 hours is all it takes for me to break something :)

Send me a new deck fast please!!!!

I have wanted one for years but they are soooo expensive. We have a bit of land and I have not been able to keep up with it after clearing a good part of it. Brush grows back in so fast and my weed eater cant handle it anymore lol. Thankfully, after 8 years, my wife decided to be super nice to me! She saved all of her money from her website this year and bought me the mower. It came in last night. I tell ya, it is raw true power in a steel frame lol. The rig that brought it in was pulling a 53ft trailer so it could not make it down my 1/2 mile driveway. Instead, I met it at the top and assembled the mower right there so I could start it up and let it pull its self back. Unfortunately the truck did not show up with it till just before dark so I had to rush and barely made it back before all light was gone. Then I took a flashlight to walk back up and get the truck. I did run it for a short bit but could not see what it was doing. Thats why I am up early today lol. I am going out at sun up to try it out. Ummmm, 17hp on a steel frame :)
