As mum and I haul stuff from the home she is selling – my childhood home and her and my late father’s home of 50 years – we are deciding what to keep and what to give away / throw away.
I came across something that dad had made for me years ago, when I was a child. He used a lovely whiskey bottle to make the base of a lamp. He drilled one hole in the glass at the back for the wiring to go through and another hole through the stopper in the top, ran the wire through and filled the whole thing with marbles.
I think it’s a really cool way to re-use or recycle a bottle, thanks Dad!
