Now is when I realize that I have no idea how to put it together or make it work! I’ve used a sewing machine before but it was already set up. I’m at a loss now and I guess I’m going to need some type of basic sewing instruction book.

I bought a sewing machine last week. Of course, I’ve been swamped at home and work and haven’t really had time to play with it, but I can’t wait to start fixing my clothes and making things.
Where can I find a low cost sewing machine to learn on? I’ve tried my local freecycle group, but no one seems to have one. Where have you guys found them for low cost? I don’t want to spend a fortune until I know if I’ll enjoy this or not. I’m looking to spend under $100 if at all possible.
I can sew on buttons and fix a hole in a pretty sloppy manner, but I’d like to make what I do look nice and actually last. Maybe eventually even be able to make things.
