I am applying for a short summer fellowship that would allow me access to the collections of the Brooklyn Historical Society collections. If/When I get it, I will be able to write my Brooklyn-based project that spans from the 1630s (when there were actual plantations in Brooklyn) through the Civil War. Wish me luck!

The best fiction is inspired by real life. My family history is so great, different, intense and dramatic, that my novel is gonna rock! I know that my purpose on this earth is to tell stories and I will. Hopefully, they will inspire on some level!
