On Friday, the hubby and I saw the Budos band live in NYC. FUNKY cannot adequately describe how amazing the performance was. I am still dancing!
Daptone Records boasts such artists as the Dap Kings and Budos Band. Anyone who has heard Amy Winehouse’s music has heard the Dap Kings. I love funk. I love soul.
I have had this irrational fascination with Otis redding since I was three. I love him and anything that came from the Stax era. I was probably the only teenager that asked for the Stax Singles box set for Christmas—and I got it too!
Daptone’s stable of artists remind me Stax Records. I am going to see the Budos Band @ the HighLine Ballroom in NYC in a couple of weeks! Yeah!
