I had a fairly musical childhood, one day – aged 13 – I asked my Dad for a drum-kit because I had decided I wanted to learn.
In a desperate attempt to snuff out my desire to play the drums my Dad bought me an electric guitar.
I never had any lessons but I just took what I already knew of music and tried to teach myself the basics. I’m never going to be at any kind of professional standard but I’m now at a standard where I can play Rhythm guitar to some of my favourite songs.
To me this is well worth doing because it really helps me unwind after a tough day at the office.
