Only drank five cups but only because we ran out of water. That’s because my daughter drinks water like it’s going out of style. She drank six bottles yesterday… That’s twelve cups! That kid’s nuts. She’s gonna drown.

I had six – count’em – SIX cups of water yesterday. I had to force the last one down and I thought it tasted like Milk of Magnesia, to which my daughter really laughed and said IT DOES NOT!! :)
Starting on my first bottle for today as I head out for my morning walk.
I am not purposely drinking water at all. I only drink when I feel my throat is parched and I’m physically in discomfort. I have tried all the tricks: I bought a beautiful Nalgene bottle, I have bought bottled water, I have bought bottled water with a twist of lemon, I have read articles stating why more water consumption is an absolute necessity, I have read articles claiming that drinking more water is not just not necessary but even a bad idea, I have researched the right amount of water I should be drinking and signed contracts with myself. Nothing works. Nothing seems to motivate me to walk around with my bottle of water and drink, drink, drink.
Yesterday I considered buying water with lemon flavouring again, in another attempt to trick myself into drinking more. But then I thought about how ridiculous that is, and I made a firm commitment to just boil some water when I get home and drink regular water. Never happened. As I sit here typing these words, my throat is parched. I better go drink some delicious, clear water before I reach for the fruit juice!
