Wooohoo! I’m feeling proud of myself for doing this. I used to swim 60 lengths every morning and I think I have got myself back to that standard.
I found it quite hard but broke it down to two blocks of 20 then two blocks of 10… I am going to go back tomorrow and do it over!
This week is all about practising so it becomes part of my morning routine.
I went to the swimming pool on my way home from work today. It was quite busy with school kids splashing around – i should have been aware of that really.
I really concentrated on my posture in the water and tried to make an extra effort with every stroke. I got into a good rythm and worked hard to swim properly. I felt good on my way home and stood up straight as a result, feeling energised and pleased that I went.
I tried going to the late night lengths session tonight. It was a cool atmosphere. Serious swimmers, keep fitters, couples etc I hate going to the pool and it turns out to be a human soup and its too chaotic.
Managed to do 35 lengths in half an hour so am still slow, but improving.
Decided to take a bottle of moisturiser with me tonight, using that after the swimming definately helps with the dry skin from too much chlorine.
I endeavour to make it to the pool before work soon – I think realistically that is the most suitable time for me to go. If only I can jump out of bed and make it part of my routine.
Managed to get to the pool tonight did 36 lengths in half an hour. Rewarded myself with some time in the steam room afterwards. :-)
I need to change this. Today I will go to town and buy a new swim suit and on the way home go to the sports centre. After the swim I will find out if they have a swimming membership or something. I hope to make it my routine to go in the mornings on my way to work like I used to on the way to uni.
