Lose 10kg

Almost done! 3 years ago

Down by 8kg, but it has taken this long, since the begining of the year. The weight loss fluctuates between 8.5kg and 9kg.

Have started eating everything in sight, as Summer is here and I have taken up cycling tours of 35miles (approx 50km) for 2/3 days a week.

Will now definitely need to go to the gym to tone, tighten and lose remaining 2kg!

Good luck everyone with this goal.

Lost 2.5 Kg....The Easy bit 3 years ago

I have lost 2.5kg since I started this thing (1st Jan) – apparently this is the easy bit to lose. The next 7.5kg will take longer I’m told. With this rate of weight loss it could be classified (or so I’m told) as borderline anorexic, but I attribute the bulk of the loss to exercise and healthier eating – volume wise I eat about the same and maybe slightly more, but regularly and more often. Also I’m 10kg over my mean ideal weight for my height – so my doctor says.

HOW I DID THIS:

Eat muesli with natural yoghurt and fruit in the mornings, if the portion is big enough you are still full at lunch! If not then salad (with any protien but low fat eg tuna, chicken breats, egg white, lean beef etc) with low fat dressing, or, fruit (as much as you can handle!) with 3-4 glasses of water. Make lunch at home the night before – costs less and you won’t be tempted to buy hig calorie lunches from the deli sandwich shop etc. Dinner eat anything – restricting carb intake to mainly complex carbs, basically brown carbs (rice, pasta, bread etc – FYI chocolate croissants don’t count as brown bread). Snack throughout the day on fruit and veg sticks (FYI crisps – even the low fat kind – and chips/french fries do not count as veg sticks). Eat at least 3 hours before sleeping.

Excercise frequently. I walk to and from work, about 11 miles a day. As I live in London, getting to and from work on public transport takes about that long anyway – incredible I know 5.5 miles in 45 minutes by public transport and 1 hour to walk!

Both have help let me lose weight. The next stage is to build on fitness level, reduce calorie intake and start toning muscle, probably in the next 2-4 weeks depending on fitness level.

Inccidentally, this is part of my stop smoking thing and it helps me stay busy.

Good luck to all who are also trying to lose 10kg or 20-ish lbs.

Part of the Stop Smoking Thing 3 years ago

Target is to lose this by the 1st July 2006, but I have a cunning plan!

Cunning plan part one:

Do some exercise – Walk to work and back (10 miles plus round trip), learn to rollerblade then rollerblade to work and back.

Cunning plan part two:

Eat more healthily – Breakfast, fresh vegetables, salads, fruit etc etc etc – oh and chocolate 70-85% cocoa variety apparently less sugar :D !!!

Cunning contigency plan – If the above fails, with all the money from stopping smoking get liposuction!
