So in an attempt to get my toeside turns strengthened and get some nice S turns going, I decided to break down and take a lesson my last trip of the year. After about 10 runs with an instructor I was able to make over 20 connecting turns in 1 pass on a decently steep slope. It was a great accomplishment. I found that slush is a great condition to practice your turns in. I later went up to the top of the mountain where I attempted the same turns on hard frozen ice/snow and proceeded to fall headfirst backwards twice. Needless to say, I still need practice on them, but I know Im capable of getting it down.

Toeside & Healside Turns
I need to connect my toeside and healside turns. I realized that right now Im using healside turns to swing my board around the direction I want to go. Im not shifting weight toeside/healside/toeside. What Im doing is similar to whats called “falling leaf”.
So now I must improve toeside turns.
