make my house presentable enough for unexpected guests

having the owners of your rental property want to have the house valued to shake you up into doing a serious clean.

The house was really embarrassing without realising it. It’s now nearly 100% ok. I need to wash all the windows (of which there are many) and continue with decluttering and do the garden and I’ll be happy!

please drop by. The house is in good order in the living/kitchen areas and best of all my DH did it ALL!!! :-D Hooray for going away for a few days and coming home to a clean house.

To get our lounge suite steam cleaned and fix up the broken part of it. Really, I just want to turf it. I’ve always hated it (poor Tyrone who really wanted it) and some feral children that came to stay with us last year, jumped on the top all over it and the stuffing has come out of the middle part of the back rest. So I need to restuff it and sew it back up. Easy enough to do I hope. Also want to get it steam cleaned as it is looking quite grotty and not at all I want for all of those unexpected guests that never unexpectedly arrive!

zones in the house that are great and others that are not so great. But essentially, the living room/dining room/kitchen are presentable enough for me not to be embarressed if someone dropped in.

I’ve been doing quite well with this. Just a little bit of extra effort makes all the difference. It’s not perfect or probably by most people’s standards but certainly heaps better than the normal tip we call home!
