My friend who I also co-wrote a script with just took a high up job in the development department at Disney. I gave him my book. Kind of great how it worked out that way, because Disney is exactly the one I want to do this story. And what it takes is a close friend to help push you through so here’s to hoping Disney buys it!

...my latest project will be listed on the front page of Variety tomorrow. Major accomplishment:)

Things looking good! 2 years ago

I haven’t even sold the book rights to my new book and already it’s being shopped as a movie. Paramount loves the pitch and is excited about it. Buckling down and partnering up with someone who is a pitbull businessman was the best idea I could have ever done. Not to mention I am learning a lot by working with him. Plus, it’s really nice to work with someone with a balance of we have different things to offer.

With Phil it was a great partnership but we were slightly too similar.

I also feel very fortunate that the only two times I’ve partnered with people (and the fact that they wanted to partner with me) that they are both professional film and TV writers. I’ve really learned a lot from both of them about writing and the business side and I am thankful to all of my hard work and late hours that has gotten me here.

I am thankful for all of my blessings:)

You put it out there what you want and it will find you 2 years ago

I was just having a conversation with friends about this subject that when you want something in your career you need to ask for it. Just start moving towards it, thinking about it, writing it down, whatever. And once you do you will start meeting the people that can help make that happen. The key is that you have to be very specific about what you want.

Anywho, that same night I went to dinner with a new friend who I randomly met at a bar. She asked me about work and I told her I sold a graphic novel series. She asked me what it was about. Then I asked her what she does and she said she reads graphic novels and comic books for work to look for properties for online and mobile product and has worked with my publisher on one of thier properties.

Seriously, what are the odds? Regardless if something turned out with that book and her company, I still have 2 other projects my publisher is interested in doing and I think all of her friends are in similar forms of business.

And just the sheer fact that I put it out there that day and it showed up that night just means it will only happen again if I focus on that.

I feel very positive about things.

Yay!
