It is still a bit in the back but mostly to the left hip and upper leg. It was doing so much better than it was before, consider it used to be almost unbearable to sit for more than a couple hours in a chair. Now, I’ve been hiking, rock climbing, biking, doing deep tissue massage, chiropractor and recently got a yoga DVD and have been doing it at home. I was doing so much better before the time change and it getting dark early. And I also went for a month with no chiropractic or massage work, which didn’t help. And I’ve realized that using any girl but Jenny at the massage place is almost a waste. The other do good upper body but don’t do good work on the hip.
So, I need to keep at it and do what I can. Especially since I want to do more writing in my free time and things for myself, which requires more time at the computer or sitting somewhere writing.
And especially now that I have the young girlfriend who is full of energy I want get back to where my muscles are functioning properly so I can be as active and free as her without possible injuries.
Heal Me!

I’ve been working really hard on getting my back into good shape. Yoga and hiking almost every day and I found a great deep tissue girl. It has been feeling much better.
I start a new job tomorrow where I imagine I will be doing quite a bit of sitting. Here’s to hoping they have a good, comfortable chair for me and that my back does well.

It’s not a 100% but the difference is amazing. I have been seeing a chiropractor who is an ART specialist and it has done wonders. There is some discomfort in my left hip/sciatic but that is is. The difference of being afraid to move in some manner for fear of throwing out my neck, shoulder or any assortment of things is gone.
I wish I could have found this doctor earlier and put the money that I spent elsewhere into something that actually works. I guess I have learned that if something doesn’t work to take quicker methods to changing and finding something that does.
We are not meant to sit and suffer with pain. We can be fixed. Why wait until it is too late? We all deserve to be human and to care for ourselves. I guess I just came from the old school parenting of sit and suffer through things because life is about endurance.
What a crock. Especially parents who aren’t exactly potato farmers ane who came from a pretty nice existence. I swear, I always came up from the view that we are one inch away from poverty when we lived in one of the nicest neighborhoods in America. So, why am I now dating someone who makes 6 figures but is always talking about being one inch away from poverty? Patterns. Patterns. Patterns.

Although I had had some progress it just seemed to be getting worse until I went to a new Dr. yesterday. He is a chiropractor certified in ART, which stands for Active Release Techniques. It’s the first time in 3 months that I haven’t been in pain. I wasted a lot of money on regular chiropractors and the ACT guy isn’t even that much more and understands the problem is the muscles and addresses it.
I was getting frustrated with my other chiros because it was like they were putting a band-aid on the problem and acting like everything should be a-okay now. When I was having traumatizing problems in my shoulder and my chiro said that area means I’m not drinking enough water…I felt like shaking him.
After one treatment of ART I’m feeling close to normal. The boulders in my shoulder are significantly reduced, which they haven’t been in a long time. I’ve had tons of massage work including deep tissue but when the problem is more deeply rooted you need a doctor who understands the problem and how to work it out.
With these guys around, in the near future, I don’t see how regular chiropractors will be able to survive. ‘Cause what good is cracking your spine back into place if your muscles are so knotted and restricted they keep pulling the spine back out of place? The two go hand in hand.
If you’re having extreme problems and pain and you think you’ve tried every solution, give a certified ART Dr. a try. I’m very glad I did.

Well, my back has been doing really well but then my right shoulder and neck hit a speed bump. I went to the chiro a week ago and he missed the vertabrae that was out so I had to walk around with that discomfort for a week. Now the vertabrae is back in but the muscles have still been sore for the past few days.
Well, I must say, it is at least a league of difference from when I first started these entries and it has taken quite a bit of time and investment in money but I figure my back and my health is the most valuable investment of all for my present and future:)

My sacram kept slipping back out and my doctor told me to take Fish Oil three times a day to help hold it in place…it’s working:)

Things seem to be looking up in this dept. which was becoming a major priority. The lower back is fixed, thanks to sleeping right and there is still some work to do on the left sacrum but I’m positive that it will be a matter of sessions to get it remedied.
He knows his stuff. I told him that I get moody and he touched me a few places on the head and made me chew a vitamin and I swear to god that I was in a good mood right after and the thing that had been bothering me all day I was suddenly indifferent about.
I considered that it could have to do with that I was in pain in my lower back and since the pain went away that was why…but, it just seemed like it was a little more than that.
I highly recommend adding a nutrionist into your life or a doctor who knows a combination of things. Having a chiropractor who is also a nutrionist and a craneologist is really working out for me in ways that other doctors couldn’t.

I went to a chiropractor who does cranial therapy as well and it really put me back into shape. He asked me a lot of questions about my eating, sleeping, sitting habits and medical history and was able to assess how I should sit sleep, what’s causing problems and how to fix them. A few days after my appointment there my hip seemed to click back into place and that annoying pain went away. After I started sleeping the way he told me to my lower back didn’t really hurt and I can now lay with my back perfectly flat.
I know that I still have some muscle work that I need to work on to loosen up from stress and such but I feel much better being in the hands of someone who is able to target my problems, why they’re there and fix them:)

I had an hour-and-a-half thai massage and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It had me totally relaxed and really worked out my hip. I still notice it today but yesterday it hurt and after the massage it didn’t.
What a great way to relax and loosen up.

I would like to take some road trips and just from driving to San Diego recently, I can tell it will not be pleasant if I don’t get my back/hip area healed.
I remember that I used to drive to Vegas or San Fransisco no problem and now less time is actually painful. It’s ridiculous.
I went to the chiropractor but it doesn’t seem to be helping the hip area as much as it used to. I’m going to try Thai massage this week and we’ll see if that helps. Maybe do my work lying down for a few days too.
I definitely need to get this taken care of before I go back to work and I’m sitting behind a desk.
