learn how to use my digital SLR on manual settings

at the moment. I’ve been spending a lot of time with my camera. And I can see the results :) I will post a pic or two sometime soon, so my friends on here can see me on my journey.

I’m about to go up north for a week and more opportunities to practice my camera skills. Still a couple of settings I’m yet to master, so this goal remains up a little bit longer

I’ve got out of my comfort zone a few times lately and been on some field trips with others. I’m enjoying the social aspect of it. A lot of my interests in the past have been solitary, and it’s nice to have an interest that I can involve others in. I won’t call this goal complete yet as I am not quite there. But I will be soon enough :)

I’ve all ready done one course in slr photography last year, which didn’t really move me forward :( I was introduced to the terminology, but didn’t get a grasp of how to use them. The teacher gave us some printed information, talked about some of the settings, but we did not do any practical exercises in class time.

I’m now doing another course at another college, in the hope that I’ll feel the confidence to start using my camera on something other than auto settings.

Good news is I’m about halfway there. The teacher and students are great, and I’ve worked out how to use a couple of the settings effectively.

I’ll call this goal complete after I’ve taken photos of traffic, moving water and sparklers.
