I went to ‘X’ lab in Khartoum again, it is the only place that I know for blood donating and it’s in my way back home when taking the public bus. And this time I felt a little bet dizzy that I had to catch my mom arm so as not to fall down in the ground when I came back home!! And suddenly i could n’t hear my own voice clearly when I talked to her! It’s the first time something like that happen to me. I had a good breakfast in the morning and every thing, and the last time i gave blood was in September. I told the doctor all of that and when she did the tests she told me that every thing is good and i should start the process.
I felt freaking tired, the biggest mistake was that there should be like 4 months between the blood-donating and the other, and when I told the doc that i did donate in September(which is 2 months ago) she said it’s ok!!!!
So, next time I will wait ‘till April come.
I have tried two times to donate blood but each time they told me that my blood pressure is low and there is no way.
One Friday night while I was in twitter I found out that there is a campaign for blood donation in ‘Stac labs’ in Khartoum and I said to myself that I should give it a try!
During that week I was fasting the ‘Sutoot’, and Friday was my fourth day in fasting, so I broke my fasting in Saturday. I woke up early in the morning, had a good breakfast, dressed up and took the public bus. The weather was freakin hot as usual.
When I was there in ‘Stac lab’, I ddi nt recognize anyone I know, I guessed that my college-mates have nt heard about it. I registered my name, did the tests and this time my blood pressure was gooood B) Then, they called my name to start!
The needle hurts at the beginning but the whole thing goes smooth and easy. Nt more than 10 minutes as I remember. And when I was done I drank a juice and waited for minutes and left.
The marks in my arm which were caused by the needle lasted for more than a week, and whenever I saw them I remember that nice day! And it feels good when you think about it like your own blood could be the reason of someone else life. And it feels good to give. To give without wanting anything in return.
Dunno why but the first time i went to doctor for donating my blood was when i was a first year college student. He said that my blood pressure is low and it would be difficult then to donate.
The second time was two years later, they refuse again because i had my braces at that month. Could nt figure out what is the relation between the braces and blood donation!
I will try again soon !!
