It’s summertime, and I thought that with no school I’d be tempted to eat a lot of junk food. Fortunately, I have not. In fact, I think I’m actually eating less junk food than I do during the school year since I always seem to study better while I’m eating.



Strawberries and carrots 19 months ago

I put about half a carrot in my strawberry smoothie. I tasted no carrots, though it was kind of weird having chunks in it which I knew were carrots. At any rate, I will keep doing it and add more carrot next time.



Perfection! 19 months ago

I made another smoothie today. This time I used low- fat and calorie yogurt instead of ice cream and it was a very nice consistency. My dad wanted me to make him one but everything had been cleaned up so I will make him one tomorrow. I plan on making smoothies every other day and next time I will blend in some carrots, as was suggested to me.



Smoothies! 19 months ago

I bought this magazine at work two days ago which contains all these recipes for healthy fruit smoothies. If I have one every day or thereabouts it will make me feel full and thus I won’t snack as much. Plus, I will eat more fruit. I tried the first one today: a strawberry shake. It turned out to be more of a strawberry soup, but practice makes perfect I guess.

Part of my problem is I don’t know what to have for lunch. So I look around the kitchen to see what there is, and ultimately I end up eating an entire Side Kicks for lunch.

My family does eat lots of things that are healthy. We have always eaten brown bread and we’re slowly going to brown grain for everything else too (rice, pasta, bagels, etc). We eat romaine lettuce nearly every night and I always have at least a glass of milk a day (usually 2, sometimes 3). Personally, I don’t like pop, tea, or coffee. So, I think, in some ways I do eat along healthy lines, however, I know I can do better, much better.

I think to start this I must create a list of healthy foods (that are generally available in my house) I can eat for breakfast, lunch, and snacks so I won’t be tempted so much by unhealthy foods.
