get a college degree

I’ve started my final term and I’ve only got 10 weeks left to finish my Associate’s Degree. I won’t be continuing on for my Bachelor’s right now. It’s just too time consuming to be in school and raising an active 3 yr old boy. He’s only little for a short time and school will be there forever. Besides that I’m anxious to put my knowledge to work as I’m knee deep in planning the launch of my tea party hostess business (Lady D. Berry’s Tea Parties…coming November 2008). Think professional chef meets party planner specializing in tea parties and you know what a tea party hostess does. Anyway…back to the books!

I’ve got 3 more terms (that tranlates into 6 more courses) and I’ll have my Associate’s Degree in Business Management. I will probably continue on to get my Bachelor’s Degree but I want to take a short break since it will be around the holidays and I’m coordinating a multifamily trip to Disney World (see my goal of Disney World for Christmas). Lots of people are telling me not to take the break but I don’t think I’d be able to concentrate on classes the way I’d need to…even with the flexibility of being online and the fact that we’d be on winter break for at least that week.

Well I’m nearing the middle of my 3rd school term and all I can say is I’m enjoying the process. It’s been challenging trying to balance school and home responsibilities but I know it’ll be worth it when I graduate with my degree and top honors!

So I’m at the end of my second term at school and I kickin’ a.. cuz that’s how I roll! Kept my GPA above 95 for the whole term. Yay Me!

I’ve finished my first school term. I’m so proud of myself for even having the courage to start and here I am at the end of the beginning. I had great instructors, great material, and great class mates. I don’t feel stagnet anymore. And because of some of the skills I’ve learned, I feel more in balance than I have in I can’t remember when. It’s so great to feel such acheivement already.

I’m taking online classes to earn my Associate’s Degree in Business Management. I know that eventually I’ll want to run my own business. I’ve tried several different things in the past and I know that working for myself will be the most fulfilling to me so to that end I’ve gotten started. And while I’m working towards openning to doors to my own business, I’ll be able to work for someone else to gain experience as well as being able to use some of that experience towards my own business.
