Not just "sing"

I’d love to be one of those people who can just walk up to the mic, open my mouth and “SAAAAAANNNNNNGGG!” I’ve wanted to do this ever since I was a kid singing into my hairbrush. There are some artists that make you realize what an instrument the voice is because they have such a command of tone and phrasing. I briefly took lessons in the past. I need to find a new teacher which shouldn’t be too hard to do.
