i am only waiting for my layers to grow out before i chop it all and make it one length again. it’s so much easier to take care of when it’s one length. if anything at all i might put one or two small (but still chunky) layers towards the bottom of my hair but i don’t like the layering thing any more. now, if only my shortest layer would grow past my armpits already!!!

it’s a long, slow, process trying to grow my hair out long enough so that i can cut 10 inches off but keep a decent amount of length for myself. while i think the layers i (finally) had put in my hair look nice, i think i might actually prefer to not have them. i just like the way it looked to have really long hair all the way down, instead of an overall long hair look made up of shorter layers.
but having to keep layered hair trimmed has taken a toll on how long my hair can/will actually get! i thought trimming more often would make hair grow faster…? :(
having had the same hair since 4th grade, and with the summer already hitting hard, i decided to take some weight off my hair and layer it! it’s still pretty long, but at least it looks like i care about how i look, and i’m not projecting the image that i’m so low maintenance that i just don’t bother to do anything with my hair at all… it looks nice. it’s going to take some time to get used to but i think as my hair grows longer that the style will look better. i’m going for something like either sandra bullock or nicole kidman in practical magic. so, this goal is probably going to be put on hold for about 4 years… :(
I don’t remember exactly when, but maybe it was something like August when I cut about 10 inches off just to get rid of a lot of the damaged hair! When I got that cut, my hair was just about at my armpits. Now my hair is just about at my nipples. That’s only like 4 inches in 9 or 10 months! At this rate, my hair won’t reach my bellbutton again for more than another year! Gah, this sucks!
so, my hair was almost down to my belly button but terribly damaged with split ends. so i had to cut off about 6-7 inches just to make it healthy and now it’s taking too long to grow back and i’m seriously contemplating cutting my hair as soon as the weather warms up (which is around march/april where i live) because i’m interested in finding a new look. i also desperately need a trim b/c i can see the ends are splitting badly again. i don’t know what i’m doing wrong? the lady at the hair salon said to use a leave in conditioner which i’ve done every time i wash my hair (except when i was on vacation b/c i couldn’t bring the conditioner with me – more than 3oz). but i know locks of love won’t take bleached hair or damaged hair… :(
UG! my hair has been so badly damaged by dyeing and bleaching (even tho i haven’t done any of that in quite some time, at least 5 years) that i’m never gonna be able to get it to grow long enough. it doesn’t matter what i do, my ends are always split and damaged and breaking off… even if i get a 3 inch cut! what am i supposed to do?
