In yesterday’s mail we received a little card with a short note saying I love receiving your heart cards every year, gotta run, have this money gift, I love you both. Auntie G. And a cheque for – $500.00!!! Wow! Speechless. Of course we’ll phone and catch her up with what’s happening with us and then follow-up with a thank you card.
$500. What shall we do with it? There’s certainly no lack of places for it to go. After a brief discussion it got decided to put it into the ‘Spain’ fund … after taking the obligatory $50. (10%) into our savings.

It’s small right now, but it is in an envelope in the safe and hopefully we’ll be able to add to it each month. With all the demolition and reconstruction for the (dream) house it is going to be a challenge.
Bigger issue is cat care. We don’t have any resources in the east. This will take some doing. Maybe we’ll get another blessing from the housecarers.com The match was perfect the first time we used the site. This time the house will be rough though. I expect this will be at least a 5 year project – the rebuilding of the house. I sure don’t want to wait that long to visit Spain, the Canary islands, Portugal. I’d like to take a month for this.
