find at least one thing each day that makes me happy and record it everyday for a year

3/9 – Orientation for the new job at the homeless shelter. Went over to Mary’s after. Colin’s after that. Coerced everyone into feeding me. Made a tiny amount of progress on my sweater. Didn’t get called to sub so I didn’t have to reject any work for my orientation.
3/10 – First day at the shelter. Met some nice people, both staff and clients. Feeling good about the place.
3/11 – Taught fifth grade resource room – it was really easy and I actually had very little to do. Got plenty of reading done.
3/12 – Had sushi with friends. Work at the shelter went by quickly. I managed to get one locker opened and closed by myself.

Got some work. Easy day.
Sunshine.
Burger King dinner.
Picked up some new books to read.
Gonna try to read Breaking Dawn for the lulz.
Talked to my best friend on the phone for a while

OH AND I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL.

The first of four schools has responded. Simmons College. Master’s degree in social work. This fall. I don’t have my aid package, and I still have to hear from 3 more places, but I am going to graduate school.

I may vomit.

3/3 Met with the local knitters. It was all right. Something to do.
3/4 Super easy day! Taught STUDY HALL. Omg I’m lucky sometimes. It’s gonna be so hard to go back to actual work. And then, date!!! We got sushi and watched movies and snuggled and I helped him make gloves. Adore him, totally.
3/5 Worked such an easy day at a new school. Had girl time with Megan, and it was wonderful. Ate nachos and milkshakes after I decided to splurge. GOT A JOB!!! Heard back from the homeless shelter – I start on Tuesday. Got to see the boy again, too. Always a good time. He covered some of my beers, so I took advantage of this. Did the best spinning of my life. I’ll never spin sober again.
3/6 I worked and earned a little money. I had major emotional growth by choosing to not visit a guy when I wasn’t feeling so well.
3/7 I took a walk for an hour and a half in the beautiful sunshine. I cleaned my car. I started Lori’s birthday present socks.

I got to the decreases on my sweater. I talked to Brian for a long time. It made me feel closer to someone.

2/28 – I finished both sockmarks and started a new sweater
3/1 – I had an easy day at work and heard a new Breaking Benjamin song that I really liked. Date on Thursday.

2/22 – DATE!! Had another awesome time with the guy. Lots of laughter and cuddles and making dinner together. So enjoying this.
2/23 – Worked again. Well, it’s money. Got to enjoy leftover fettucine alfredo from the date.
2/24 – Half day. I survived. Then had the day to myself!
2/25 – I worked a much easier day, and braved some serious rain (I did it!!) to take a big risk and get some food
2/26 – I had a knit night via text message with my friends when I couldn’t come out
2/27 – I went out to a knitting event and to dinner with my friend Megan! I had lots of fun, held to my no yarn pledge, bought a pretty batt, and had a great dinner. I practiced my spinning and had lots of fun today. It felt great.

2/17: Spontaneous second date. Really nice time. This is going well.
2/18: Worked on my sweater hardfuckingcore
2/19: Knit night! Spent a little more time with the boy, met some people. Tried a new beer. Spent a little private time with the boy. Al is very well.
2/20: Work. Got trained for a new job, so I get a dollar per hour raise. Dull as hell, but it was money and a free burger. Went out to the bar after. Boy was there. Got some goodnight kisses, pleasant words, and public acknowledgment of our relationship.
2/21: Totally gonna finish this sweater.

1/27: I got a bunch of work done on my Swedish Fish socks
1/28: I got my eyebrows done
1/29: I got to take a trip to Boston and I had a good low key night
1/30: I had a fun time staying up drinking with the guys
1/31: I got a little adventure when we JUST made it to the bus
2/1: I got some work
2/2: I talked a lot with friends online
2/3: I had a job interview! I think it went really well but I’m still waiting to hear
2/4: I got a full day’s pay for subbing even though I got sent home after an hour when the kid I was supposed to work with never showed
2/5: I went out to 80s night with my new friends! It was fun and I danced and I had new people in my car
2/6: I worked on my grad school applications
2/7: Super Bowl! My team lost, but I had a good time watching
2/8: I had a great interview and braved some serious driving. I’m officially going to be a sexual assault response advocate volunteer in the Spring!
2/9: Work! And put an application in the mail!
2/10: Put a second application in!
2/11: I got back half of the money for something I didn’t need to register for in the first place. At least it’s something. Fourth day of work in a row. Had a nice lunch.
2/12: 5th day of work. First time that’s happened since June. Other two applications in. Went to knit night. The guy I’m crushing on was there. Lots of flirtation, eventually just openly being affectionate with each other in front of others. Laughed a lot with/at a guy that looked like Leonard Nimoy. Took a “walk” with the crush. Made out in my car. Everything feels very, very good.
2/13: 6th day of work in a row. Giggled about the boy situation with everyone I know. Started a new sort-of-job that looks like a once-a-week thing in a restaurant. I excelled at making desserts and loved it. I kept busy and felt my calories burn off. Free dinner, too, which makes up for the $3 in tolls I had to pay to get out there and back.
2/14: FIRST DATE with the crush. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Trying not to put all the details all over the internet. But AMAZING.
2/15: Went to a minor league hockey game for free with someone from my other knitting group, and they won 7-4. We got free fries and decided to splurge on milkshakes.
2/16: Little bit of snow. Got to figure out where my snow brush had gotten shoved to on Friday night. Knit my ass off on this new sweater.

• I decided to take a friend up on an invite to Boston for this weekend for a party
• I got work and didn’t do a single thing
• I read 197 pages in a new book at work

1/20: I got work in my hometown for a change
1/21: I got work in the other town
1/22: I went to the bar for knit night again and had even MORE fun than last week and laughed so hard my throat hurt
1/23: A new friend invited me to hang out and I did!
1/24: The Colts got into the Super Bowl and I had fun watching and texting Raj
1/25: I got work and finished my first Swedish Fish sock
