Well, sort of. My father is a weatherman in what I assume to be a major market, though I don’t know if his station is the top or not. I’m kind of afraid that he might think I’m just a famewhore or golddigger (now I ain’t sayin’ she’s a golddigger…) and I’m trying to find a way to avoid that in writing to him. I figured I’d first off include stuff that I could only know because of my family members that knew him, and saying I don’t want anything, and emphasizing it. I’m just not quite sure if this could get me a rejection.

I started writing a loooong letter to my father last night. Knowing his name and town, I figured I could get it off whitepages.com. And I had an ex-boyfriend that said he found the address but I wasn’t ready for it back then. Now I am and I can’t find anything. So, I need a little information about Georgia: What towns are near Lake Lanier? On a biography of him on a website (his profession lended generously to my search, I must say) it says he lives at Lake Lanier. Another one said NEAR Lake Lanier. I can’t find anyone with his name in GA (which is odd since it’s so generic sounding) but I did find a few with the last name and first initial. I’d like to narrow down the possibilities by figuring out what’s near Lake Lanier. Thank you for any help with this troubling hurdle.
I have recently found out through my grandmother all that I know about my father, including his name and profession at the time of my birth. Because of his somewhat high-profile job, I was able to find him online, and enough of a biography was provided, along with pictures, to confirm that this was indeed the person I was looking for. No e-mail was provided, unfortunately, but his town of residence was and through internet yellow pages, I could get his address and phone number. I would love to contact him, but am terrified. I have never spoken to my mother about having this information and she has never brought up my father ever in my 20 years. Does anyone know any resources for how to cope emotionally with finding a father, and talking to relatives about it?
