Right, that’s it, this goal is officially on hold for the time being until I get other bits & pieces sorted.
TheRealMez has written 12 entries about this goal
Absolutely no progress whatsoever this week, been busy preparing for my sisters wedding.
Hmm… could have done better.
11. Casablanca (1942)
59. The Pianist (2002) << Was on telly
232. Big Fish (2003) << Forced upon me
Another bad week. =(
97. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)
205. The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)
Ok, maybe I ought to change it to weekend updates…
46. M (1931)
109. No Country for Old Men (2007) << Not my fault
197. Duck Soup (1933)
198. The Lady Vanishes (1938)
208. King Kong (1933)
222. All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)
245. My Man Godfrey (1936)
Still not quite out of the 30’s but should be mid-40’s at least by Monday; a bit behind where I’d like to be because I’ve been watching too much Will & Grace. =\
Perhaps I should have given Mr. Chaplin a little more credit. He’s a pretty funny guy, just a little terrifying first time you see him. First one’s always the hardest though I guess.
62. City Lights (1931)
77. Modern Times (1936)
Hope to have reached the 50’s by next weekend.
Alright! In my previous entry I was pissed that I wasn’t getting anywhere. It worked, and for the last few days I’ve just been watching film after film. Making some good progress at last!
82. Metropolis (1927)
132. It Happened One Night (1934)
157. The Gold Rush (1925)
172. Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927)
218. Safety Last! (1923)
228. Frankenstein (1931)
241. Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922)
Will post again tomorrow, then actually stick to Friday updates this time. >.>
I’m getting frustrated with myself because I’m getting too lazy with this goal, so much so I’m not even keeping up with weekly updates. =(
105. Hotel Rwanda (2004)
179. The Kid (1921)
Note: The Kid is like my first pre-1960 film, and truth be told, I found it really hard going to watch, for a multitude of reasons. Because of it I wanted to cut out all pre-50’s films, just read the synopses then tick them off, but then I’m cheating. So I think now I am going to watch the list in this order:
All pre-1940’s productions to get the hard ones out of the way;
all pre-1970’s productions;
remains of list in ascending rank.
Woops! Meant to post on Friday. =\
This isn’t going well. I’d hoped to have seen at least double this week but ah well, I’ll just have to make up for it over the next 5 days. I have plenty to watch anyway.
61. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
76. Gran Torino
