I came to this website back on January 13th looking for support on my journey to healthy living. I found a lot of support over the last 3 months,and for that I want to thank those who have kept me motivated.

My lifestyle change was easy for the most part, as it centered around portion control. I found out it’s about how much you eat and not so much what you eat or how much you work-out. Bottomline is to burn more then you take in, period. This program will not work for everyone but I am here to say it has for me. At a steady 2,000 Calories a day(anything I want) with 3 days of 1-3 mile walks a week I have shed 41 pounds.

This friday is my final weigh in at work for the get fit contest and i will be well over 11% total lost!

Well I am a week out from my next official weigh-in, I am proud to say I am at 32lbs lost since starting!I have broke 300! I am down 2 pant sizes and fitting in to 44’s loosely! Do you know how huge it was to break that number? I am super enegized!

The 2,000 Calories a day eat anything you want diet is working! I also have bumped my cardio to 2.7 mile walks 3-4 nights a week. I am doing 45 minute light workouts 2-3 nights as well.

Down another 5 pounds since my last entry. This brings my total to 26.6 pounds lost. Ever so close to that first milestone of being UNDER 300.

Super Bowl Sunday, It made me weak! 10 months ago

I come here today with a confession! I broke my 2K a Day Diet Sunday night. My brother in-law had a Super Bowl Party and I went.

I did not each much and made sure to calculate each little snack I did have. I was doing great untill he offered me a beer, which turned into 10 more as the game progressed. I woke up Monday feeling absolutley worthless,knowing I had broke my rule. This lead me to skipping meals Monday and Tuesday(which is not acceptable) to “make up” the lost ground. I quickly got myself back on track yesterday morning and was pleased to see only a .4 gain. That is less then half of a pound. So while I have not lost weight since Friday, I take this as a victory for the fact I recognized, accepted, and corrected the problem. In the past this would have lead to a huge downward spiral.

Drum roll............ 10 months ago

I am down 15lbs which is around 5% of my total weight so far.

While I am happy that I meet my goal, I feel a little deflated. Slow and steady is the road I am on and at times you just want to speed the process up. I may bump cardio up to 7 days a week.

Sigh.......... 10 months ago

So tomorrow is the first “official” weigh-in. I was stoked to jump on the scale as of Monday, but I have not walked since Sunday. We had a severe Ice Storm come through this area and everything has been closed down for the past 3 days. While I held my own sticking to my diet, I did absolutely no exercise or cardio. I hope I stayed the course and weigh in at 10+ lost.

On a side note I feel like I gained. Anyone else ever get that feeling? I know it has to be impossible to have gained weight because I stayed under 2k Calories, maybe its the fact I did not work-out and do my cardio for 4 days.

Friday January 30th is my first official weigh-in at work for the “get fit” program. I had a goal to lose 10+ pounds each of the weigh ins(every 3weeks). As of Friday the 23rd I am down 10.6lbs.

I cannot wait untill I start to see the number 2 as the first number on the scale.

10 Days in... 11 months ago

For the first time in 7 years, I slept through my alarm! I am exhausted after my first 10 days, both mentally and physically.

My body is still adjusting to the 2000 calories a day and I am almost over the abscense of caffeine. It has been a rough week drying out from all of my bad habits, but I made it and the worst part is behind me.

My exercise program went well and I even walked two extra nights after my workouts. I was pleased with the results of my weigh in this morning!

This year I plan to get back to a healthy weight by losing 100+lbs.

A little history about myself.

I had never been a pound over 210(6ft) until after my second back surgery in 2004. I was a very active adult (37 atm) playing basketball in a league and working out 3-4 times a week with my neighbor at a local downtime gym prior to my accident. I spent nearly 16 months doing rehab and learning to move after losing total left ankle reflex(due to the surgery). During this time, I put on 45lbs putting me at 255. I have always eaten heavy and never had to worry about what I would take in; this would turn out to be my major downfall over the next several years. I had started living a stagnant lifestyle starting in 2006 and I only went out to go to work (desk job).

My job host an annual get fit program over 3 months each year, which rewards employees with time off for every 1% of body weight they lose up to 2 weeks paid off. The weigh in was Friday January 9 and I was a staggering 330lbs. The whole room was in shock as they all guessed me around 270 tops. So here I am looking for others for support on this new journey I am about to begin. I started a program Friday which includes the following schedule:

Workout plan

Mon,Wed, Fri = 30 min cardio
Tues,Thurs, Sat = 45mins light workout, hitting each muscle group with 4 reps of 15.I also do 60 crunches and 4 sets of 10 push ups.
Sunday = rest

Diet

Portions! For the first time in 5 years, I will actually monitor portions and calories. I am starting at 2000 a day intake. No fried food, soda, beer, or sweets. NO FASTFOOD!

I hope this can get me off to a good start. I have already felt an energy boost over the last 4 days.
