Hooray! I had a great time too.
A few years ago I was very phobic and also quite agoraphobic and couldn’t even take a train [or bus] for a 15-20 journey. I still hate all sorts of travelling that’s out of my ‘comfort zone’ and occasionally sill get anxious leaving my house, but recently things have been a lot better.
Yesterday I took at 2-45 hr there, 2-30hr back journey to see my best friend at another university. A Year ago I wanted to but never ever could have, a couple of years ago I wouldn’t have even considered it. In the end I wasn’t too anxious and had a great time. Rather proud of myself! It’s one of those things that when I think about it and realise other people wouldn’t think twice about it can be depressing, but in my own context it’s a great achievement =)

I only just wrote an entry about going to a club, and was wondering what I’ll do next, when I realised that recently I’ve bee talking to new people a little more regularly and with more confidence than usual – a concerted effort on my part. I even started a conversation on the bus with a stranger when I found out they went to my uni, something I’d never usually do.

I have been a uni student for a year, and until two weeks ago I’d never been to a club in my city. Well, two weeks ago I did! It was at a small and less-sleazy club run by a friend of mine where a couple of their house-mates DJed. It was kinda fun actually, I quite like dancing, even if it is to bizarre ‘minimalist’ electro etc… So that’s one or this month already, and I may go to something else quite soon.
