Better Together

Was reminiscing about lesser times tonight… But also remembered something much much sweeter. Cappadocia, 2011.

Special Day at Work

Thankful for the sweetest note that my coworker wrote about me. She must think I’m an angel! :-)

Thankful for my friend who meant to buy me coffee for listening to her at her low point… The Starbucks guy just ended up offering me the coffee on the house ‘cause I go there so often, I think I’m their local celebrity…

Teehee <3

Oh I’m all giddy just thinking about it. I like having my crush like a proverbial carrot on a stick. It helps add a little skip to anything I do and helps sway me on unmotivated days.

It’s also helpful that he’s taken, that I don’t think he likes me in that way and I don’t see him very often… In fact, he’s not my type either. I would even say he doesn’t make me feel very good about myself (unintentionally)... But I literally can’t help it: I just love how caring he is.

Some days our interactions are colder and we hardly crack a smile. At times, he’s all business, while on most days, I’m expectantly glacial. But on the days where the chemistry sets in, it’s a pure, harmless kind of fun I’ve never had with anyone.

It’s a fantasy spun from almost nothing but it’s enough for me to wake up a bit earlier… And try to tone up a bit more.

So far, I don’t even think there’s any real flirting going on (aside from my constant hair tossing which I do with everybody… low cut bangs always covering half my face).

So to help break my brooding cycle, some sporadic giddiness for a sweetheart of a crush. <3 <3 <3

The best company

MBSR Homework - Day 4

1 – Feeling lifted after a short cry.

2 – Finding an exercise program that is such a good fit for me, it’s a mix of physiotherapy and pure pleasure.

3 – Reaching greater understanding of myself and, at the risk of sounding corny, my journey.

MBSR - Day 3

1 – A great session with my naturopath.

Of all the professionals I’ve worked with, she’s the best fit… Funny, seeing as to how she’s a nutritionist!

2 – Being excited over trying a new venting outlet.

3 – Bidding goodnight to the subway clerk.

Well, I’m referring to her as a clerk but as a government employee she’s probably earns more than most Phd’s!!!

I was the last passenger on the last train to arrive to the station.

The female employee who overlooks the counter had left her booth to wait by the platform for the last train, wearing coat and bag and clearly, ready to go.

I was the only one who stepped out of the train so we made eye contact and I greeted her.

- Am I the last one? You were waiting just for me?
- You’re the last but not the least! (smile)

A great way to end the day.

MBSR Homework - Day 2

1 – Epiphanies

2 – Feeling connected: 2 of my 11 FB friends (LOL) were blown away by a video I shared on FB. When someone else loves what I love, it makes me feel more connected and understood.

3 – Working through a small brooding bout

MBSR Homework - Day 1

1 – Informative and fun guitar class. Great way to start the day.
2 – Very nice taxi driver drove me to class. He was quite funny too but not too talkative.
3 – Beautiful weather. With winter lurking and fall being my favourite season, great time to fill up on sun and feel-good weather.

65) Healthy Skin

For all the brooding and emotional roller-coaster, you’d think it would take a toll on one’s face…

But my skin is looking nice and healthy (save for the occasional break-out from using cosmetics).

Sure, I just found my first wrinkle but overall, my face hasn’t suffered too much.

It’s like stress chooses to manifest itself by fatiguing my body (been trying to get out of bed for 1 hour) and the occasional heartburn but strangely left my facial skin alone… for now!

How one ages is also largely genetic (thanks Mom!), but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts…

64) *A drunken compliment*

This time last week, I was recovering from my friend’s birth-day party, which dragged until 3 h am (until the bar closed). We had dinner at a fancy hotel where she booked a room, then we walked to a bar.

I was seated on a table with an old acquaintance, a former classmate, and she was seated next to two guys, who to their credit, did dub themselves Dumb and Dumber.

To my left, an empty seat, then a guy I see at every gathering, + the parents of Dumb… Or Dumber, not yet settled on which is which.

So Dumb and Dumber did their act the whole night… Dumb was funny as always and Dumber was just (eyeroll)... Show-off-y, attempt at funny, functionally drunk but oh so dumb.

As we stepped outside the hotel to walk to a bar, a walk which would be filled with stupid drama with bouncers, egos and sensitivities, Dumber did stand up straight for one second to look at me, wearing my best trench coat and said: “You look like Audrey Hepburn!”.

I doubt he remembers, but I’ll take it! LOL
