I send out the thousand arrows of light into negativity! For some reason I’ve been using that “mantra” lately when negative thoughts arise in my mind.
I realize I may becoming more and more “new ageist” in all of my goals, but so be it. I read Sweet’s book “You don’t have to die to go to Heaven” partly because my brother gave it to me, partly because I needed some brain candy and partly because he lives in Toronto. I like his material, especially the quotes from the bhagavad gita and other sources.

Just discovered in A Flash of Lightning in the Dark Night this idea of the three poisons: Attachment, Anger and Negative thoughts. Doing a lo jong practice to help the transformation of negative thoughts.
Santosha is one way to categorize this. The idea of contentment, to refrain from criticism and fault-finding. Being critical comes so habitually it is hard to train your mind not to jump out front and start lambasting. Seven Pointed Mind Transformation practice or lo jong practice is a good place to start to develop some ways around negativity.
