ok…so…
I give up. Only because it aggravates my injury and I just don’t have enough time for other hobbies & activities that I enjoy more. I don’t feel bad though. I tried it out and it wasn’t for me. I can give all my knitting stuff to my sister and she actually WILL make something out of it.

Community threads is an group that meets to knit hats and scarves to donate to a hospital for cancer patients. My sister taught me how to knit, and I have been to one meeting so far. The problem is, I have come up against is my old injury: a broken arm (rollerskating accident) which was put back together with the help of a large metal plate and 6 screws. After the surgery I was told I should go to physical therapy and not return to work (where I lifted heavy plates) for at least 3 months. Seeing as I had (and continue to have) no insurance, I did not go to physical therapy. Seeing as how I was saving up to move out I returned to work after three weeks instead of three months. Now, 7 or so years later, I find that repetitive movements cause major discomfort. Working out with resistance bands hurt my arm so badly it kept me up for hours three nights in a row. The first time I sat and really knit for more than half an hour it wasnt as bad as that but it was still very uncomfortable. Im not quite ready to quit on this one…Im going to take my sisters advice and try to slowly condition myself to do it. Maybe it will just be very slow going for me. If it continues to be a big problem I will quit.
