OK I have seeked out help on both Yahoo 360 and Myspace but so far I have not had much luck so I am turning to 43T. I figure everyone on this site is about reaching their own goals as well as helping other’s to reach theirs. A friend of mine pointed me over here when she got involved in passing that garden gnome around.
Anyway here is what I am trying to do:
I am trying to get a person from each state to participate in helping me out. I need pictures. But not just any pictures. Nothing I can find online or that people have taken on vacations. I need a special picture, for a very special reason. The picture should be take in front of something unique to YOUR state. The state line sign, a National Park located there, a famous building or monument, the State Capital building…anything that is completely unique to your state and that a stranger to the state would recognize as something from that state.
Once the location is chosen I need the participant to find someone, anyone, to hold a sign up. They can hold it and have someone else take the picture or they can be the picture taker. I do not care who is in the photo. It can be your child, friend, neighbor, mayor or a homeless man.
The key part is the sign. It HAS to have this sign in the photo. The sign should read “Alabama doesn’t miss you!” Or whatever state you are taking this picture in. If it is Wyoming then the sign will read “Wyoming doesn’t miss you!”
This is the reason that it is going to have to be a new picture. Unless of course you already have a picture that has a sign like this in it :-| but that is highly unlikely.
When I attempted to explain this to the people on blogging sites I got bombarded with random pictures of their last vacation or their city skyline at night. I tried my hardest to explain what I was looking for and out of the 400 or 500 people I asked to help I got 5 pictures that were usable.
Don’t get me wrong I am not complaining. Any help at all is so greatly appreciated, but I started this over a month ago and have 5 pictures.
The pictures are for a scrapbook type thing I am making. My best friend and the love of my life moved away about a year ago. I want him home. But nothing seems to convince him of that. He often questions whether I really miss him or just tell him that to make him feel better. I figured that since saying it means nothing, I need to show him.
So I am making him this scrapbook with fun facts and things about every state. And I want these pictures in it. I want him to know that Texas is the only state that DOES miss him and want him in it.
Also anyone who is unable to provide a picture (either digital or snapshot works) I am trying to get postcards and other little things with the state picture, name, whatever on it. I was thinking matchbooks with the city and state of the company they came from, business cards, anything really.
And if this does not work I am going Elizabethtown on his ass and making him a scrapmap showing him exactly where he NEEDS to go. LOL
