Some years ago, Jim Rome (the sports talk show host) coined this nickname for Todd Marinovich. Unfortunately for the Raiders who drafted him, “Toddie M” was more interested in smoking the hippie lettuce and playing in his band than quarterbacking the Raiders.
Since my first name is Todd, and my middle intial is “M”, I just kind of picked up on it ever since.

NYC his adopted home: I’m wondering if that means he lives there , or just wants too.
The cinephile part is self-explanatory. I guess I’m a cinephile too….
