I am going to Paraguay as a Rural Health and Sanitation Extensionist. I purchased a new backpack and just began to gather all the other recommendations for travel. I can hardly believe I leave in February. Any recommendation for Paraguay? I’m having a difficult time making the decision if I should work right up until I leave – any thoughts?

After 10 months of paperwork and WAITING I have received my invitation. I plan to call tomorrow to officially accept the invitation – reality! I’m going to Paraguay. I can hardly wait, yet the reality of being gone for over two years is beginning to cloud my mind. I have been reading blogs and doing research to grasp the slightest clue of what the future may hold. I am thrilled by the idea of the unknown and look forward to challenging myself. Is anyone traveling to Paraguay? Best Wishes to you all and be patient because in hindsight, the process has been painless and fast.
I have been medically cleared!! I have been waiting since April so seeing that particular box checked off this morning was a brilliant way to start my day…way of thinking…future
After three weeks of waiting for medical records and mailing back my medical and dental info I finally got a email from the PC saying an update has been made. I was so excited I entered the wrong password three times and must wait 30 minuets before trying again. ahhh. I’m sure it’s just a notification they received my packet – but I’m dying to know.
I have been legally cleared!! I’m still waiting for medial records from the hospital regarding the removal of my appendix. This has been frustration because the hospital will not fax information and I have had to mail a discloser twice now.
I had my physical and blood work done today and was told by the college clinic it will take 1-2 weeks for results.
I visit the dentist tomorrow to have x-rays taken and on Wednesday polio and Td booster. (Thankful I had my wisdom teeth out already.) Is it best to send all paperwork back to PC together or should I send it piece by piece?
I’ll have all my dental and immunization forms ready to send back way before I get my medical lab work done – any suggestions?
The interview went well and I have been nominated to Latin America with the health extension program. The medical kit should be here any day. Latin America was my first choice so I hope it works out. I’m open to going anywhere and I know changes can happen at anytime. Was it helpful or required to have past immunizations charts when going for the physical – not sure where to find it these days – ? It has been very helpful reading everyone’s experiences – thanks for sharing.
My interview in three days. An advice? Should I treat it as any job interview, dress accordingly – promote myself, ex…
I apologize I’m new to this site so I may be responding in the wrong place. I have completed the first application and have an interview in two weeks. I am nervous about the variables that may cause concerns regarding my past, such as, I saw a personal counselor for about three months. Should I come prepared with information about the counseling for the interview? Or at the very least start preparing the information for future interviews?
