Really and truely eating crazy.
BUT…
I did try out a recipe for Tofu cheesecake. It is AWESOME. SO high protein dessert. Whoo, it’s really super tasty and does not taste like tofu at all, also super easy, so now trying to figure out how to get it all on the plane next week…

I’ve had a lot of improvement with the goal. I had water at lunch one day- and did slip up into a small diet soda the next. Yesterday I had milk.
I’ve managed to eat mostly vegetables. I’ve also had fruit, which has so many great benefits. And I do not think I have had afternoon coffee once this week, which is Great for me.
The weekend tends to involve some food indulgences. I mean, I do a lot of weekend exercise and usually burn around 3-5 thousand cals in 2 days. I am going to try VERY hard to not have pizza. Clearly, I will still have to eat a lot of calories, but…they do not have to be pizza.

I admit that since I have started to log the higher miles…calorie count has become less important to me, and voila, things like Pizza and tacos have made a massive reappearance in my life. Thing is I have not gained any weight, so there are relatively few consequences. BUT…
I know that some of my choices are affecting my “hormonal health” or something, So I am making a big choice here. I’m going to try to cut back on Soda consumption, and also coffee consumption. I am not a HUGE coffee drinker, but that combined with diet coke is probably too too much. So yesterday I started with tea for lunch and soda at dinner still. And no afternoon coffee. I’m trying to decrease the phosphorous from the soda. Today I am going to try to go with just water for lunch…and skip the afternoon coffee again, as I think I will sleep better….I don’t know why this is so hard. It’s a rest week in training, so I am also going to be eating mostly vegetables. We’ll see how it goes…

now. I have not been to a drive through in quite a while. tonight I am having grilled peaches and salmon with raspberry vinagrette drizzled on top and mushrooms…
big salad for lunch.
hideous greek yogurt for breakfast
milk for snacks
I am going to have a cupcake for dessert though.
My weight is trending down as well, soooo I am relieved to be back on track…
I really need to find something that tastes good and is like the nutrition of yogurt.

a terrible slip up…for much of the time after surgery cooking was very difficult, as was even walking into a supermarket for a frozen meal. So I started to rely on Drive Throughs. Wow, yOu can get so much via a drive through. But of course it involved Taco bell, and such…
As a result of this and decreased activity I have gained 6 pounds. It is surprising it was only 6.
Today I had a good eating day
Greek yogurt for Breakfast
Coffee
big salad and protein (milk) shake for lunch
turkey meatloaf for dinner.
Lemon ice for dessert.
I feel better and am hoping to decrease the weight, and have a bit more energy.

meatloaf.
I made it from a blog recipe I found which was essentially stuffing mix, veggies of choice, 2 eggs and water. mix it up, spice it up and bake it.
It is quite YUM!

I am failing… I was doing pretty well, then withthe tail end of the Marathon training, the long runs over 15 miles I was hungry hungry all the time. I did have to eat more…but now Marathon is over, and I do not have to eat more. I find I am very indecisive about what to eat and then of course don’t plan or shop well…which allows me to limit my food choices and eat odd things and some things in excess. like cheese, for all three meals in one day….it’s a creeping sign that I may have an eating issue…which of course I do but I like pretending that I am “cured”...
So to rectify this a small bit I went out today and got a bunch of “Lean cuisine” style meals to eat for lunches at work and dinners if need be. They do have a lot of preservatives, but nutritionally speaking they are more balanced than a lot of things. This paired with a fruit pretty much eliminates the need to fuss with cooking and simplifies the decision making that seems to be paralyzing me. Sometimes I wish we just had like the same meals to eat every day, like the uniforms I wear to work. It would simplify things.

I’m still doing actually very well on this goal.
I’ve been eating lots of fish, some chicken and still working on the fruits and vegetables.
I do struggle still with cravings for Pizza. Learning that there is a certain percentage of sawdust that is alright in a McDonald’s Burger pretty much stopped the McDonalds craving. I think eating Pizza once a month in alright, btu I am trying to keep it to just that!!!

better with this…
I’ve been able to figure out a fairly good balance. I am still fighting to get more than 5 servings of fruit and veg in daily but, I am definitely getting fruit and veg daily…as well as nice lean proteins. I’ve tried quite a few new recipes. A few have been good most have not been great, but I keep looking for new ways to fix fish and chicken….
