Run the Turkey Trot in Carlisle PA on US thanksgiving day.

I did take some Motrin last night and that seemed to help. Race was quite disorganized with the 10kers going all in the wrong direction…
As near as I can tell my time was about 29.30 or something like that. For being sick, having it also be cold and rainy I think it was fine. My Dad was so funny, he thought I would be slower so he completely missed me going through the chutes…and I then spent 15 minutes looking about for him…...

My race packet today. They for some reason decided to give me a Large T shirt, which is EEEeenormous. All set to run, except for the fact that I’m still a little sick…..
but we’ll see, it’s an early morning thing, and it could be quite fun….especially if my sister and her kids and husband have breakfast with me afterwards….

These YMCA people take their turkey trot seriously.

I just got a telephone call at 7:00 am this morning to check on my birthdate….

For crimeneys sake, the race isn’t chip timed, or sanctioned, so I’m wondering why why call me at 7:00 am for that!
Well, if the z pack works, I’ll be trotting on Thursday…

today to mail registration. It’s stamped and clipped to the mailbox just waiting to hop into the mail persons loving hands…

Still not thrilled about the name, and just a wee bit nervous of being slow in front of my Dad….I keep thinking, what if the walkers finish first!!!

I have a feeling this is going to be fun, I hope it won’t be too much!

to avoid anything termed “Turkey Trot” but well, its available, I have the time off, and it will give my family something to focus on for a day.

Now, to decide if I want to do the 5K or attempt the 10K.

its so close, I’ll probably do the 5K even if it makes me feel like a sissy.
