make a difference in someone's life

You never know who’s watching or listening to you in your daily routines. It’s funny because today I got a call from a friend who I haven’t spoken to in ages (well more like two months) and I asked about what they were currently doing…and I knew that starting tertiary education was something that they wanted but never got around to doing. Anyway they said they signed up and is going to start in September and even proceeded to say I was their inspiration. I was like… ‘say what?’ He went on to explain that seeing me struggle with my job and school and other aspects of my life and made him think that hey at least it’s worth a try and if I could do it maybe he should do it too. I was taken back a little because there was I thinking that I’m always complaining about school and the fact that I think I’m really sucking at this. But there’s someone who’s looking at my trials with hope and admiration. It just goes to show this goal can be even easier than we think.

My friend and I was chatting online and she made a comment that I observe people by watching which was my IM message for a while. So from there we started a conversation and I asked her to tell me things that she has recognised about me. Which was quite an eye opener and one of the things was that I am always willing to help pple (which I didn’t see). But anyway a few lines later she asked me for advice on a situation and I told her my opinion, gave her a bit of advice and just did what friends do.

She was in tears and told me that what I told her was sooo true and that of all the other pple she has asked for an opinion just kinda brushed it aside. But that I was willing to help (as usual she said) and that I affected her postively, more than I know.

So there my goal is completed and it came from someone else;s words. But it really was my honour and I think this goal will remain on my 43things list forever!!!
