Making Goal Weight a Challenge 5 months ago

So I’m giving myself 90 days to hit the weight of 150 pounds. I started June 5th, which means I should be at goal August 5th. I started at 170 so I have 40 pounds to lose in 3 months. It sounds like a lot but it’s just a little over 13 pounds a month, which I know is doable because I tend to carry a lot of water weight. Today, June 7th, I’m at 168. I already lost 2 pounds! which is very exciting. My plan is to hit the gym 5 days a week and to the elliptical machine, also 2 of those gym days will add a spinning class. Food-wise I’m going to eat 5 small meals a day and no eating after dinner, period. and of course lots of water!

I’m in therapy and taking St. John’s wort for the depression that caused me to pile the pounds back on, so I feel confident that this weight loss will stick.

Not going to make it 7 months ago

sadness! I am not even close to making it to 130 pounds by May 1st. Maybe I’ll make it a new challenge.

Half a Pound! Half a Pound! Half a Pound! 2 years ago

Ok I am trying to stay focused and positive about my weight loss but I just weighed myself and I have only lost a half pound since last time, which was like 5 or 6 days ago. WTF?!! I feel like my body is fighting me tooth and nail on this last ten pounds. Part of me feels like forget it, I will never get to 130. But another part of me feels very stubborn and fixated on getting to 130 pounds. I feel like that would truly be my best weight. And the weight is coming off, albeit super crazy ultra slow, and I am not dieting or anything drastic. I am continuing to eat normal portions of food and a normal amount of exercise or body movement each day. If my body wasn’t meant to weigh less, why would I still be losing weight.

Today’s Goals:
30 minutes yoga
Run 2 miles
Walk 10,000 steps
Drink 120 oz water
One serving meals, seconds declined
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, raw fruit for dessert
Brush & floss after every meal
Start: 210 pounds
Today’s weigh-in: 137 pounds
Goal: 130 pounds

Getting There! Creeping Along 2 years ago

Weighed-in today at 137.5, yippee! I am getting there, slowly but surely. A friend recommended that I add strength-training to my workouts to boost my metabolism to burn off this last bit of overweight. I must confess I have slacked off on lifting weights, so I will do that at least 3 times this week. I hope it helps and I know it can’t hurt. When I was doing yoga this morning I thought about starting up pilates again. We’ll see. Off for my run! Have a good food and fitness day.

Today’s Goals:
Run 2 miles
Walk 10,000 steps
Drink 120 oz water
One serving meals, seconds declined
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, raw fruit for dessert
Brush & floss after every meal
Start: 210 pounds
Today’s weigh-in: 137.5 pounds
Goal: 130 pounds

Yay! Cracked the 140 Barrier AGAIN 2 years ago

I was going up and down from 138-140 for a while and then stuck at 140 for a while. I have been flaking on losing the last ten pounds! I am not sure why, but the ONLY reason I am not at 130 yet is because I haven’t been doing the work. I have not been exercising like I should, and I have been going off my eating plan. For example, eating after dinner. So it’s on, I’m going to knock off the last of bit of overweight THIS YEAR. I am not walking into 2007 overweight, not after how hard I worked this year. I deserve to be at my best weight and I will make it!

Today’s Goals:
Walk 12,000 steps
Drink 120 oz water
One serving meals, seconds declined
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, raw fruit for dessert
Brush & floss after every meal
Start: 210 pounds
Today’s weigh-in: 139 pounds
Goal: 130 pounds

Keep It Moving! 2 years ago

I’m up a few pounds since last check-in, it’s just water weight though as it’s my lady days time, you know what I mean. I have a long day of work ahead of me, sitting at the computer, so I’m going to have to really challenge myself to get up every hour and get my steps in. I’m going to do a quick 2-mile walk as soon as the kids get off to school.

Today’s Goals:
30 minutes yoga
50 crunches
Walk 10,000 steps
Drink 120 oz water
One serving meals, seconds declined
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, raw fruit for dessert
Brush & floss after every meal
Start: 210 pounds
Today’s weigh-in: 143 pounds
Goal: 130 pounds

9 Pounds to Go 2 years ago

Food today: breakfast 2 slices homemade whole wheat toast with homemade blackberry jam, morning snack an apple from the tree, lunch white rice topped with garden okra and tomatoes sauteed in olive oil and a sprinkle of adobo, afternoon snack a big bowl of raw cucumbers, green pepper, broccoli from the garden, dinner not sure because my husband is gonna make it. It’ll probably be grilling veggie burgers and vegetables outside, dessert homemade applesauce.

I’m trying to eat mostly food I made from scratch or grew myself lately. It helps me a lot with overeating because I won’t tear into the winter stores and all the abundant garden stuff we have is so low in calories it won’t pack any weight on me. Plus I just can’t sit up and overeat on garden corn or okra or whatever…by the time I pick, shuck, cook and eat just 4 ears of corn I’m, done, LOL.

Photos comings ASAP! I’m having issues with my phone/camera but will upload them as soon as I can. I have a lot of new pics!

Today’s Goals:
30 minutes yoga
Walk 10,000 steps
Drink 120 oz water
One serving meals, seconds declined
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, raw fruit for dessert (making homemade applesauce again yum!)
Brush & floss after every meal (this is the main thing that helps me stop eating when I am full, to get up and go floss and brush my teeth. It takes that craving to stuff myself away because I no longer feel like eating with a fresh mouth)
Start: 210 pounds
Today’s weigh-in: 139 pounds
Goal: 130 pounds

Slow Weight Loss Sucks 2 years ago

I am trying to stay upbeat and positive but my weight loss is at a crawl now compared to how it was when I first started. I weighed in this morning at 141.5, which means eleven pounds to go. At this rate I’ll be at my goal weight by, I don’t know, CHRISTMAS.

Ok I’m going to change my negative attitude, because I think that’s affecting my weight loss. I need to be honest with myself about this. I have been doing things that affect my weight like eating after dinner. I have not been doing things that affect my weight like skipping daily exercise. I understand this, and need to get back on track. I am confident once I do, these last eleven pounds will drop right off.

Today’s Goals
30 minutes yoga
4 mile brisk walk
120 oz. water
One serving meals, no seconds
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, Raw fruit for dessert
Brush & floss after every meal
Bedtime when sleepy, Wakeup 5am
Today’s Weight – 141.5 pounds

Dropped the Half Pound! 2 years ago

I was whining about in my last post, LOL. Weighed in this morning at 145.5! Fifteen pounds to go. I hope to be at my goal weight by the end of August.

My knees hurt from running yesterday, I think I overdid it. I’m not going to run today but I will do a brisk walk later on today. Food-wise I’m doing good. Saturdays I tend to eat very light because on Friday we also have tofu stir-fry, which has a lot of fat. Today I’m eating a lot of fruit and raw veggies from the garden. For dinner I’m thinking a light pasta and sauce.

Today’s Goals
30 minutes yoga
4 mile brisk walk
120 oz. water
One serving meals, no seconds
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, Raw fruit for dessert
Brush & floss after every meal
Bedtime when sleepy, Wakeup 5am
Today’s Weight – 145.5 pounds

My Weight Loss has Slowed 2 years ago

Weighed in today 146 again, which means one. pound. lost so far this week. The last 20 pounds is creeping off, egads. I feel like I weigh less now than I did this morning, just a smidge, so maybe by tomorrow I will have dropped another half pound and I’ll be 145.5

The run today went well, as did yoga. I was just plodding along, though, I didn’t even break a sweat and it was a 2 mile run. It took me nearly 30 minutes to run it, which should give you some idea about how slow I ran. Tomorrow will be better, I’m just proud of myself for doing it.

Today is stirfry Friday, which means I’m gonna hit the gym after dinner!

Today’s Goals
30 minutes yoga
2 mile run
45 minutes elliptical
120 oz. water
One serving meals, no seconds
No salt added to food
Raw veggies for snacks, Raw fruit for dessert
Brush & floss after every meal
Bedtime when sleepy, Wakeup 5am
Today’s Weight – 146 pounds
