write a short story.

I have an idea, but as I plan it out, its a quite longer than a short story. I will work on that idea and see if I can come up with a short on to help me build confidence and remember what it is like to finish a piece. Cow stories aside.

there was a mean fat cow who worked in a hospital and liked to make all of the smaller barn animals feel bad about themselves because they were not as big and fat as her. She mistook the other animals having to look up at her to see her as them looking up to her as in admiring her, but she was wrong. The other farm animals talked about her and how mean she was behind her back. She would tell the other animals that because they were not as big or as special as she was, that she was better than all of them. She bragged about living in the barn while the pig lived in mud and the hens lived in cages. “You will never have what I have because I am a doctor, uh, I mean a big, fat cow. I have more things than you, that means I am smarter and better than you.” All of the other animals hated her. All of the nurses, hens hated her because she bossed them around.
One day the farmer came and took her away to be slaughtered for food and the other animals were so happy.
Thats what you get for being a big fat cow that thinks you are better than everyone. Eaten. You are so busy making everyone around feel bad that you dont see that one day you are headed to the slaughterhouse.

That was dedicated to the chief of my division who wouldnt leave me alone today and then asked me why I have a dress on today. “You never look this nice. I mean you do, just not THIS nice”.

Yeah, still nothing on this one. I still have no ideas worth writing about. Seems they have all been taken (whether good or bad), or I just cant seem to think of ANYTHING. But on a good note, I am still thinking about it, so I have not given up.

I used to write stories in high school of all places and was actually published twice. People told me I would be great if I kept going, but as my friend George says whenever I ask him what he is writing, “Crap Tara, all crap”. I thought it was funny that what I wrote was good enough for people to read, but to me, it wasnt really good. George is being courted by 2 publishers for 2 different books and despite calling them crap, they are really good.

So, I saw this as someone elses goal and thought, I would like to give it a whirl again. Everytime I sit to write, I dont have much to say. I guess I will keep thinking and start from there.
I dont even have to be pulished or think that far, who needs that pressure? I would just keep pressuring myself to the bottom shelf of the clearance books at Barnes & Noble. Nice and easy. Its all about priorities. Making time for something you want to try is pretty important.
