Im sure none of you would ever guess, but if I had it all to do over and had supportive parents who warned me about planning for college, I would be in the fashion industry. Not modeling, I did that already, or designing, I still dont know how to properly thread my machine…but write or photograph. Work for a magazine, have a column, attend all of the shows….I would LOVE it. LOVE LOVE LOVE. People I tell this to are shocked because if you look at me, fashion is so not a priority. Im a baggy jean and tshirt with flip flops person. (Except at work of course. There I do quite well, but only because I have to). But I know all of the designers and can tell you whose line is who by looking at it. I yearn to see them in person and the thought of meeting Diane Von Furstenberg, holy crap. Even Christian Siriano, that boy is on FIRE. His stuff is amazing. Tony Cohen, Badgley Mischka, Venexiana…her stuff is what I dreamt about as a little girl. Calvin Klein, Mara Hoffman really impressed me, Okiko Agawa’s use of color and her skirts…crazy.
So, since baseball has escaped me all this year and before I knew it it is now September and the Sox are terrible, AND every game for 3 years has been sold out, I am I removing that goal. I am replacing it with seeing Fashion Week in 2012 so that gives us enough time to up with the $1200 for the 2 tickets (or find someone to go with) and we can worry about the hotel later. Though, we know some people in NYC now so maybe we can crash with them a night or 2 to help save on a weeks hotel.
I sometimes wish I had a chance to do it all over again….
