It may seem strange, but after 12 years together and over 4 years married, my husband and I keep pretty seperate financial interests, along with combined interests. It’s for various reasons, and good ones too.
Mostly it’s about independence- and that’s my problem swith the credit cards. I have been saying “it’s my debt, I should pay it off” rather pig-headly for over a year, even though my husband has offered to give me some money from our joint interests to pay it off.
After a bout of illness and just being sick of worrying about them, I decided I’d take ‘some’ money and pay ‘some’ of my debt off. With the exception of a couple of hundred dollars I’m keeping as an ‘emergency’ I have almost paid off my smaller credit card. It’s a bit of a relief. I would have like to have done it on my own, but I’m pleased it’s almost out of the way.
I will be nice then on concentrate on one credit card and get it paid off as soon as I can- hopefully early in 2007.
