We are well on our way to doing this. I have spent far too long being nomadic, and it has worn me down. I suppose if I were a real nomad, I wouldn’t acquire so much stuff for the kid (and myself) and maybe then being nomadic would be easier. As it is I’m sick of having to make a fresh start over and over because I couldn’t move everything, and I don’t want my kid to have to go through that.
But now we’re getting a house. A house all our own. My kid will likely grow up there. I will decorate it to make it feel like home. We will get dogs and a BBQ grill and live a quiet, peaceful life. We will garden and can. We will fill every inch of the house with good memories and laughter. Roots will grow.
I am so happy about this that, paradoxically, I can hardly sit still.
