go out more

but I am way too happy and comfortable living in our little tree-house. I have all the things I love around me, J, Olly and Mouse, my computer, my books, art supplies, movies, trees and birds, the ocean nearby, a great kitchen and J is a great cook…

I am such a homebody.

why go out?

I guess that answer to that is, that every time we go out we come home saying, ‘that was fantastic, we should do it more often! & it is so important to keep in touch with friends and family and do those things that bond you together.

I will make more of an effort to get out of the house now Spring has arrived. I am sure there will be much more outdoors activity to look forward to. Oz has just had the coldest winter in 10 years and I think we have all been in hibernation. ;)

A couple of weekends ago my dear friend S and I went out for High Tea to celebrate my birthday (which was in October, but hey we got there eventually).

We went to a beautiful restaurant with lovey french style antique furniture (all in deep reds and browns). Fantastic food, champagne and tea (of course). It was such fun getting all dressed up for the occasion and the best part was spending time with my friend, just the two of us, away from partners and family and friends.

A lovely way to celebrate an occasion.

J and I celebrated our anniversary at the end of April with a trip to the Hunter Valley. Spent two days in a beautiful cottage overlooking the vineyards and rolling hills.

We had a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant and a fantastic day on a guided wine tour. So much fun. Of course it was all very expensive, but hey, you have to live a little every now and then :)

Oh, I also saw the most beautiful sunset ever as s we were riding home on the bus. The vineyards were in the foreground (with their beautiful architecturally designed buildings) the hills in the background and a huge pale white moon was resting in a sea of pink and purple sky. I hope I never forget that sight.

Last weekend my sisters and I went to a three day camping and music festival. Had a nice time (although I am not sure that I am the camping type).

We had a amazing weather and it was great to be outside under the stars.
