I wrote it for the kiddo that used to call me Daddy. The verse is the sweet part and the chorus is the reality of it all. It’s the only song I actually choked up on while recording. Did it in one take and it’s on my new album. It’s a sweet memory of the sunlight that was in my clouded life back then.

Though this song was just written. Yeah, by me. The lyrics are reminded of a good time once had with a certain little girl in my life, then, the chorus brings you to the present. Its sad. It really is, and I was balling like a mofo when I wrote it. But it’s what I have to do to get it out. And I’ve started recording it for the album, the song again is called “Butterfly”
“Shippin’ Off to Boston” by the Dropkick Murphy’s. It was the song I was listening to right before I got my tattoo and reminds me every time when I hear it in the car. Its cool
I was really into Midtown for awhile, after I had seen them with Jimmy Eat World then again with Blink 182. I had picked up the record and gave it a listen. “No Place Feels Like Home” was one of the tracks that touched me deeply. Soon after that, I was faced with a person that I was able to put into this song perfectly. It was the first time I’ve ever cried listening to a song. Singing all out of key and what not. But I still remember that car ride, like it was yesterday.
“The Rest of My Life” by The Early November. That was my favorite album at the time and listening to that song to this day reminds me of driving to Anthem to watch Bobby’s dog and just the journey in general.
“Polaris” by Jimmy Eat World, yeah baby, winter 2004. ;)
“Hands Down” Dashboard Confessional. I learned how to play that song for my muse, Vivian. We would sing it together and have fun. It was our song.
“Summertime” MAE: The only song I knew by them when Vivian and I went to go see them at the Rock for the first time. It was amazing. I remember looking at the singer, and he was looking at me.(Vivian was right in front of me) Then, I smiled and the singer smiled back. Later, Vivian had told me she did the same thing, AT THE SAME TIME. It was magicial or something like that.
“Got the Life” By KORN. I remember blaring this song in my headphones and storming out of the living room because I was angry with my mom, ah… teen angst.
“NAIVIV” by me, Tyler. I remember singing it to my muse. She really inspired me.
“Shut Up” by Blink 182, it was the song I was listening to in my headphones when I quit my job. Because management didn’t want me wearing headphones while I collected carts. ha!
“Highway 101” by Social Distortion. Whenever I hear this song, it puts me in a good mood. I think of Iban and I jamming to it. Its fun.
“Critical Acclaim” Avenged Sevenfold; I used to listen to this song every morning at work in the live room, just to feel that bass booming. It was great.
“Hooch” by Super Natural; it was the only song that my friend Scott and I liked. I remember that day when I went and bought it. Geh.
“Sonny” by New Found Glory. A sad song that reminds me to this day of my dog passing away. It was the first song we heard when leaving the vet’s. I turned it off and have yet to listen to it since.
“Ender” by Finch; not to get too graphic, but something memoriable happened during this song. SEVEN MINUTES SUCKA!!!
“Seven” by Sunny Day Real Estate. We popped in this album every time we went up to the mountain for a hike. I remember this song the most, its my favorite.
Thats it for now…
