I’d make more money if I would pitch more stories to national magazines. But between work and life and family and friends and volunteering, I often don’t take time to send story ideas to magazine editors.
I’m hoping to establish a new pattern – where I spend a half day a week working on my pitches. Or two two hour blocks. I’m thinking that Thursdays are my day to begin this pitch-fest.
Anyone have advice on what works well to carve out time for something necessary but not as rewarding as the other work?

Sometimes I wish I could forget about making money and just write what feels valuable, important or memorable.
That sounds like a dream world – or after I win the lottery approach.
That sounds so far fetched that I can’t believe I just wrote it.
