learn Photoshop & Illustrator

Someone gave me CS3!!! SOMEONE. GAVE. ME. C. S. 3.!!!!!! Wow! What a blessing. This is making my life so much easier. Wow! Thank you, God!

My last Illustrator class was last night. I learned some things, but not everything I really want to know. But now that I have the basics I can learn the rest on my own.

And according to the Adobe web site, CS4 is already on the market!

I start my Photoshop class in November. With the same teacher. Who is extremely cute, I might add. Extremely. Eye candy. Yum.

I found out in class last night that I can get the student version of the Adobe CS3 Suite for less than $400. I also found out that CS4 is about to come out. Should I wait and then take the CS4 class to get the student price? I think I had better jump on this so I can do what I need to do.

Last night I started an Adobe Illustrator class at the local community college. I also signed up for Photoshop, but because I am the only person who signed up for the Saturday class from 9-4, my section was cancelled. I transfered to the Nov. 11 – Dec. 9 class instead.

I am really excited about taking this class and moving forward to complete this goal. The only minor thing is that I am learning CS3 and we have CS2 at work. But I am sure I can work around this.

I’m learning Photoshop and Illustrator. I have to because I have to use them to do the line sheets and the brochures at work. John gave me his old computer, which is so fast it makes every ‘puter I’ve ever used in the past look like a pooter. I have the whole Adobe Suite on this thing so I had better take advantage and learn them all while I can. I’m learning page layouts in Illustrator, but I need to be able to do line drawings and textile weaves. I would ask Nina to talk me through it but she just quit her latest gig so I know she will be negative and tell me it is too hard for her to help me over the phone. Nina could be a great friend if she didn’t have that horrid jealous streak. She once told me she hates it when anyone is doing better than her. I thought that was one of the most bizarre things anyone ever told me in my life. But this post isn’t supposed to be about Ms. Nina Bean.

My brother sent me Photoshop 7 and now I have a job with Photoshop 6 on my pc at work. I purchased the CS3 bible in March so that I could really learn something. It’s going fairly well. Sometimes I read the book, sometimes I play with the software on the computer, but when I really want to know something asap, I go to youtube and type in Photoshop and the name of the topic. People have put tutorials out there and they are pretty good. My favorite on youtube is ‘You suck at Photoshop’. Good stuff.

I need to learn PhotoShop because I work in fashion and I need to keep up with the necessary skills for my industry.
