I have been living up north for the last few years, which is how I finally learned to say no. These people are sort of off the hook and will take you for everything you have if you let them. I had to learn to barter with shady vendors in Manhattan, turn down jobs where they require overtime at the same hourly rate as regular time, and charge me $1,000 a month for a damaged apartment that I was not even living in and tell me they would not let me out of the lease. NOT!

Timing is everything 2 years ago

I actually have learned to say no, but now I need to be able to say it quicker. Lingering wastes my time and the other persons time, which makes them just as upset as saying no in the beginning.
