I did not write and publish a book of poetry but this is no longer important to me. I just don’t want to totally delete it so I am moving it to things I’ve done. That way I have a record that this was once a goal.

Missing You
Is it possible to miss someone when you’ve never physically been in their presence?
Is it possible to long for them and hunger their essence?
Do you think the feelings are authentic to want to tell them your secrets and your views?
And to desire that they be the first one you share with when you have exciting news?
Could it be real if you feel down sometimes because you’re far away from them?
And is it truly legitimate when you want to do thoughtful things for them on a whim?
Are those feelings genuine if you want them to come and never go away?
I’m referring to a deep, heartfelt desire for them to come and stay
Are emotions contrived or valid when they are constantly on your mind?
And what of those intricate reveries that take up so much of your time?
How early is too early to want to know all their heart’s desires?
And what should you make of those passionate thoughts to fan small flames into fires?
I’m not sure if there’s a textbook reason for me feeling the way I do
All I know is you’re not here and I am missing you
I posted this under another of my entries, but I really like this poem so I will post it here again. (If I could only get this kind of love into my life…!)
Home
I want to immerse myself in you
I want to get inside your head
and figure out how you figure
that you are in love with
and totally captivated by me
I want to wrap myself in your affection
be dressed up in your love
totally draped in it
I know this is possible
because I feel it covering me all the time
even now
I want to embrace your soul with my own
touch your heart with my smile
wipe your tears with my presence
make you blush with a look
have you experience the volume and magnitude
of emotions I have for you
I want to be so enmeshed with you
that when I touch you
I feel what you are thinking
think what you are feeling
which only comes with the truest sense of intimacy
And when I have done these things
then, and only then
will I have arrived home
to a place that I have never been before
but always knew existed
just for me and for you
And you are the key
that opens the door for me to enter
I will be home because I will be in you
Never truer words have been spoken
than home is where the heart is
I really want to publish a trilogy of poetry. Each book would have 26 poems in it – one for each letter of the alphabet. I have several of them completed. Here is a sample from Love A to Z. Feel free to let me know what you think:
Imagine ThisImagine this: a love so pure, it can never be polluted
And though it’s shared with many, it can never be diluted
Imagine this: a love so strong, it can never be destroyed
Yet it is totally useless unless it is employed
Imagine this: a love so great, it cannot be reduced
And though it is quite precious, it’s more valuable when it’s used
Imagine this: a love so focused that it found you when you were lost
And it vowed to stay with you always, no matter what the cost
Imagine this: a love so compelling, it cannot let go of me
It binds my heart to yours, yet somehow that sets me free
Now, no longer imagine any of this, but know this love is true
And as freely as I have received it, I give this love to you
