One reason I don’t give opinions much is I tend to get shot down as it’s likely not well thought out. And my response is to get defensive rather than to acknowledge that someone has a different view.
It’s not about winning, it’s not about whether people like you- it’s putting your views out there and expressing them well.
A well-informed/formed opinion forms you. It’s knowing of which you speak that makes you a thoughtful, smart individual.

(after someone has expressed an opinion): “You really need to be less wishy-washy!”
I tend to speak my mind but then change it often or modify my opinion when someone disagrees. I want to say, “I see your point, however…” instead of caving all the time.
