It’s from the classic “Chicken Soup for the kind soul”
There was a boy cleaning out his locker…he was kind of dorky looking..Anyways with his books in hand he set out for his house…along the way his books were knocked out of his hands by a passing crowd of ppl on accident, as he bent down to pick them up…a boy yelled out “Jerk” the boy looked around, and this boy he knew named Vincent knelt down to help him pick up his books. He looked up at the boy and smiled at him as he introduced himself.
Vincent was very popular with everyone a good kid with a good heart, Vincent and the dorky boy named Charles soon became great friends.
Graduation day came and Charles was appointed valet dictorian….He talked about school,grades and then finally the power of friendship as he started remembering the day he met Vincent…He let out a stunning discovery….When he cleaned out his locker he was actually going to kill himself when he got home…but because of Vincent’s kindness…It saved him from that fate.
Vincent couldn’t believe his eyes, this young,educated,now well groomed kid that used to be a bit dorky was telling everyone about something so personal…He couldn’t believe it…his friend was going to kill himself???
After the ceremony Charles went up to Vincent and shook his hand with his eyes filled with gratitude, Vincent choked back tears and hugged his friend.
Moral of the story: Basicly a simple act of kindness such as a smile can end up meaning so much more…maybe even saving a life…
